The tradition of Thai Foot Reflexology (Nuad Pan Boran) has very ancient origins and it was a form of knowledge reserved to a very small number of monks who served the king.
Thai Foot Reflexology is a union of Chinese Reflexology healing arts, Tuina, Shiatsu and Yoga.
According to the Acupuncture and digital acupoint pressure theories, 7200 sensor nerves connect the foot to the body's various internal organs. The stimulation of specific points on the foot activate a reflex beneficial effect to the organ directly connected, improving its functions.
During the centuries, the Thai buddhist monks living in Bangkok, at the Wat Po Temple, improved their knowledge of Reflexology and added more manipulations on the ankles, calfs and knees, thus extending the benefits to the musculo-skeletal, blood and lymphatic systems.
Thai Foot Massage and Reflexology include pressure and light stretching aiming at opening the Sen and let the Lom flow.
It is performed either on a mat on the floor or on a couch, wearing comfortable clothes, using some oil and the typical wooden stick.
The treatment usually lasts one hour. The addition of Plantar Reflexology extends the treatment to one hour and a half.
